DS: Can the DSi Become the Portable Wii?

Kotaku has recently posted an article covering the different features of the Nintendo DSi and relate them to how they think it will bring non-gamers into portable gaming, just as the Wii brought many non-gamers into console gaming. I think the iPod touch has helped in this regard but for more traditional games, the DSi could definitely help. The packaging is even reminiscent of the Wii's packaging, and the whole "My DSi" marketing scheme Nintendo has planned should help them achieve their "1 DS per player" goal.
